Hi, I’m Vera. I belong to the ‘tribe of the sacred hearts’ as Clarissa Pinkola Estes so wonderfully describes the folks who live by the wisdom of their hearts, who bring their intuitive knowing, their capacity to love and connect, to everything they do.

Creative expression was my way to connect to myself, process and make sense of the world since I was I tiny toddler, able to hold a crayon.

It was in my heart that I felt it first: a deelpy visceral ache, when I realised I didn’t quite fit in with what was considered ‘normal’ back in Switzerland, where I grew up.

The ache turned into rebellion that carried me to London’s punk scene, where I found belonging in a world of other misfits, making art and playing in bands ever since, exploring what it means to be ‘different’ and finding out who I am.

My heart is my most valued ally in my therapeutic practice, because although we call it ‘mental health,’ it is often the heart that carries the deepest wounds. And so, to protect the raw, we harden around the hurt. I believe softening becomes possible through relationship: when we feel safe, connected, truly seen and accepted.

As a fellow traveler, I trust that each of us carries within ourselves the answers to what we need. With compassion and gentleness (and a little humour), I witness you shine a light onto your dark places, your rejected parts, and your potential (they are often the same).
